Navigating the App
The shell every page shares, the left rail, the command menu, Settings, and the Report a Problem dialog.
The Shell
Every page is the same four boxes: a page frame, a toolbar across the top of the content, the body, and one scrolling content area. The left rail holds navigation; it collapses to icons on a laptop and becomes a full-screen drawer on a phone. The top bar holds the search and command menu and your account menu.
The Left Rail
Entries appear by audience (see Roles and Access). In order:
- Overview: what is next and what is waiting on you.
- Calendar: events, sessions and anything else with a date, in one view, plus your own connected calendar.
- People: Matches, Directory.
- Programs: Office Hours, Events (Upcoming, Staffing), Applications and Matching for admins, Announcements for admins.
- Resources: Partners, Organization, Tools and Templates, Manage Resources.
- Settings: your profile, and for staff the whole configuration of the platform.
Quick actions sit at the top of the rail: Create Event or Submit Event, Create Match, and Add Founder / Mentor / Volunteer / Admin (which invite directly).
The Command Menu
Press Ctrl K (or click the search box in the top bar). Type a page name or a person's name and press Enter. It knows every page you may open and jumps straight there. On this docs site the same shortcut searches the docs.
Settings
Settings has its own rail. Account (My Profile, Notifications, Connections, Sharing for founders, My Availability for volunteers), Business for founders (Business Profile, Team, Business Assessment), and for staff Workspace (Members, Team and Roles, Organization Sharing) and Content (Forms, Stage Bands, Member Fields, Company Fields, Tag Lists, Email Templates).
The Views Switcher
Admins and developers see a Views control in the rail that previews the platform as another audience. The real role still decides what you may do.
Report a Problem
The account menu has Report a problem. It asks what happened and what you expected, captures the page, screen size, browser and recent console errors on its own, takes a screenshot if you paste or choose one, and files an issue in the tracker. A copy is emailed to the Impact Hub team with the link. See the FAQ for where those reports go after launch.
On a Phone
The rail is a drawer behind the menu button. Tables scroll sideways inside their card. Dialogs never scroll sideways. The sign-in card fits the screen. Anything that does not fit on a phone is a bug; report it.
