Row Actions
Open the menu on a row:
- Open: their profile, as the directory shows it, plus the staff-only facts.
- Scorecard (volunteers): the Volunteer Scorecard sheet.
- Edit Details: correct their first name, last name or email. What they wrote about themselves stays theirs.
- Change Access: see below.
- Hide from Directory / Show in Directory.
- Deactivate / Reactivate: a deactivated member is hidden from the directory, from matching and from event audiences. Use this when someone leaves.
- Delete Member: type their name to confirm. Removes the account. Prefer Deactivate; Delete is for mistakes and test accounts.
Change Access
Open the row menu and click Change Access
The dialog is Change Access: "What {name} can do in the platform."
Choose Access
Member, Admin, or (for developers) Developer.
Tick the Roles for a Member
Founder, Mentor, Volunteer, Partner. A person may hold several.
Click Save Changes
Toast: "Access Updated: {name} is now {roles}." The change is written to Clerk first, then to the platform. The person sees it on their next page load.
The same dialog opens from the Directory: open a member's card, click Manage, then Change Access.
Staff Accounts
Settings, Team and Roles lists everyone who can administer the platform, with an Invite button for staff roles. It is read-only otherwise; change a staff member's role under Members.
From the Command Line
A developer with the repository can run npm run role -- --email someone@example.org --role admin. It writes Clerk first, then the database. The person signs out and back in.
What Admins Cannot Edit
An admin cannot rewrite another member's headline, bio, skills or other self-written profile fields, or a founder's business, or a mentor's availability. Those belong to the member. See Edit a Member Profile for what you can do instead.
