About These Docs
What this site is for, who it is written for, and how it is kept current.
Purpose
Impact Hub OS is the Support Stack platform built for Impact Hub Houston: the place where founders, mentors, volunteers and partner organizations are onboarded, matched, and brought together for office hours and events.
This site is the platform's documentation. It exists so that the Impact Hub Houston team can run the platform day to day, and so that any developer, now or years from now, can understand how it is put together and work on it with confidence. It is written to stand on its own: if the people who built the platform were no longer available, everything needed to operate, fix and extend it should be here or linked from here.
Who It Is For
- Admins at Impact Hub Houston. The Admin Guides walk through the everyday tasks with the exact labels you will see on screen: reviewing an application, inviting someone, changing a role, editing a profile, editing an email template, running an event.
- Developers. The Tech Stack and For Developers sections explain every service the platform depends on, where things live in the code, how to set up a machine, how to deploy, and the conventions the codebase follows.
- AI coding agents. A dedicated page explains how an agent should orient itself in this codebase, what to read first, which commands prove a change, and which things it must never do.
What Is Not Here
Secrets are never written here. Variable names appear; values live in Vercel and in each service's dashboard. Commercial terms of the engagement are not here either; the contract and its amendments are their own documents.
How It Is Kept Current
The docs live in the same repository as the platform, in the docs-site folder, and deploy with every push to the main branch. A change to the platform that changes how something works should land with a change to the page that describes it. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed against the code.
