Businesses and Organizations

A founder's business, a partner's organization, partner invitations, and the partner listing members see.

Two Kinds of Organization

  • A business belongs to a founder. One business per founder. It has a public profile and a team.
  • A partner organization (a support organization, capital provider, or economic development group) is represented by one or more partner members. It has a profile, people with permissions, a listing under Partners, and can share resources.

A Founder's Business

The founder edits it under Settings, Business Profile (also Business Profile in the rail). Fields: logo, Business name, What your business does, Who your customers are, Industries, City, State, Website, LinkedIn, Founded, Team size, the The business is registered switch, and any fields your team added. A Your stage badge is worked out from the assessment. Save Changes at the top. Only the business owner can change it; teammates see a read-only view.

An admin cannot edit a founder's business directly. What an admin controls:

  • Which fields are asked, their labels and help text: Settings, Company Fields (section Founder business).
  • The assessment questions, weights and stage bands: Settings, Forms and Settings, Stage Bands. See Forms and Fields.

Team. A founder adds teammates under Settings, Team. A teammate joins through an invitation link and answers a short intake without the business questions.

A Partner Organization

How One Comes Onto the Platform

  1. From an accepted partner application. When the partner creates their account, the organization they described is brought onto the platform automatically with them as its administrator, filled with the mission, services and areas from the application.
  2. By partner invitation. Applications, Partner Invitations tab, Invite a Partner.
  3. By the partner themselves. A member holding the Partner role with no organization yet is offered a create form on the Organization page.

Partner Invitations

Under Applications, Partner Invitations: "Support organizations join by invitation. Invite one, see where each invitation stands, and bring on organizations recorded from applications."

Click Invite a Partner

"The person who accepts becomes the organization's administrator on the platform."

Pick the organization

A new organization (then type its name), or one already on file from an application or the old base.

Representative's email

Locks the invitation to that address. Leave it blank for a link anybody with an account can use.

Tick Email the invitation to them, then Send Invitation

Or untick it and click Create Link to copy the link yourself.

The result dialog shows the link ("Only this link works for them, and it works once"). Links last 14 days. Row actions by status: Invite, Send Again, Withdraw, Invite Again, See Partner Listings.

The Organization Page

In the rail under Resources, Organization. Staff can open any organization; the picker on the right of the toolbar switches between them. Tabs:

  • Overview: logo, Organization name, Mission, About, Website, LinkedIn, Contact email, Phone, City, State, ZIP, and any team-added fields. Save Profile. Below the form, read-only chips from the application: Services, What you offer, Impact areas, Where you serve.
  • People: each person's tier (Administrator, Manager, Member), Remove, and Invite a Colleague by email or link.
  • Matches: founders the organization's people are matched with, within the sharing policy.
  • Contribution: hours at events and mentoring sessions by person and program area.
  • Listing: what members see under Partners. Name, Category (Capital, Credits, Tools, Services, Talent, Space), Offer headline, Tagline, What members get, About your organization, Who qualifies, Where to apply, Brand color, Visibility (Members can see it / Hidden from members). Save Listing or Add Listing.

Tiers

TierMay
AdministratorEverything: profile, people, listing, resources, remove members
ManagerEdit the profile and listing, publish resources, invite
MemberSee the organization's pages

An administrator or manager also sees Manage Resources and can publish resources on behalf of the organization. See Resources and Partners.

Which Fields Are Asked

Settings, Company Fields, section Partner organization, controls the labels, help text and team-added fields on the Overview tab.

What Partners See About Founders

Set once for the whole platform under Settings, Organization Sharing: whether the founder chooses, how much is shown, which progress signals are shared, and what founders are told. Each founder then answers under Settings, Sharing.
